Hello Jeanne!
I was reviewing Myers-Briggs results with a client when she asked, “Is it okay for a leader to be tender?” She was looking at the Thinking–Feeling spectrum, noticing the facets Tough (for Thinking) and Tender (for Feeling).
Of course, I said yes and encouraged her to lean into it. But it made me wonder, how many leaders feel they have to be tough all the time? The truth is, the best leaders balance both, choosing when to be firm and when to be gentle.
Today, let’s celebrate the power of tenderness! Leaders who show grace for mistakes, practice patience with growth, and offer forgiveness to themselves and others cultivate trust, connection, and resilience.
Tenderness doesn’t diminish authority - it strengthens it, creating teams that feel valued, supported, and empowered. Lead with compassion, and watch both your team - and yourself - flourish!
If you'd like to find out just how Tough and Tender you are, reply to this message. We will get you signed up to take the Myers-Briggs - you will love it!
In the meantime...
Be. Here, Now.
