Hello Jeanne!
Our daughter made it her mission to learn how to create sourdough over the summer. She was successful which was awesome but when school began, the task of making sourdough (to which our family was now addicted), became mine.
What I’ve learned has been surprising - baking grounds me. The measuring, mixing, and creating something from scratch slows my racing mind and brings me peace. It reminded me how powerful creativity can be, especially during the holiday season when our lists seem overwhelming and never-ending.
As leaders, we’re so focused on doing for others and getting things done that we sometimes forget to nurture our own spirit. Taking time to be creative whether it’s baking, painting, drawing, photography, gardening, etc., helps us reconnect with ourselves and bring fresh energy to everything we lead.

Creative moments spark new ideas, reduce stress, and remind us of the joy that fuels meaningful work. So as you check off your lists, wrap up projects, and attend events, give yourself permission to pause and play. Create something simply for the sake of creating. You might find that those quiet, inspired moments become the most productive ones of all.
Baking is my new love! It has brought creativity, joy, and a sense of calmness to my week. I wish the same for you.
Enjoy discovering your new creative love!
Be. Here. Now.
